Good Bye to 2010
As we say good bye to 2010 it is a pretty cold day. It was 20 degrees when we went to the barn so of course everything was frozen. There is one benefit to the frozen ground, it allows us to empty the manure storage barn!! We even have the opportunity to clean out heifer barns and continue our goal of clean bedding and barns for all our animals. The rainy weather makes this pretty difficult but we do our best. When checking dry cows this morning, I did find a cow had calved and the calf was no where to be found. When I did find her, she was freezing cold. She will be ok but it looks like she might have a little frostbite on her nose. Keep an eye on that!! We want to wish everyone a safe evening as we welcome 2011.

Year end 2010
As the 2010 year comes to a close, we have decided to start a blog about our Organic Dairy Farm. We are a small organic dairy farm located in Chehalis, Washington. We milk 200 holsteins cows and are proud members of the Darigold Cooperative. Our farm has been milking cows since 1970, founded by Tony and Sunny Schilter.
